Rocca di Frassinello Description
WINE DESCRIPTION: The top label, “le grand vin” following the Bordeaux classification, the highest expression of the Italian-French project. Produced from the first vines to be planted at Rocca di Frassinello, Baffonero was created in order to compete qualitatively with the great wines of Maremma. This wine takes the name of the vineyard in which the Merlot is cultivated.
TASTING NOTES: Deep ruby red color. Concentrated dark fruit notes, especially blackberry and blueberry, roses and licorice are among the aromas and flavors that emerge from this great red. Full bodied, rich with velvety tannins. Polish and supremely elegant personality. Lingering aftertaste of sweet fruit, spice and tobacco.
FOOD PAIRING: Ideal with long-cooked meat dish, barbecues. Delicious with aged cheeses.

"This red exhibits a savory side as much as dark cherry and plum fruit, revealing wild herb, tobacco and iron flavors. There are also sweet spice accents before this gives way to a tannic grip on the finish. Best from 2023 through 2033." -Bruce Sanderson, October 2021
