Deep ruby. Pungent, highly perfumed scents of ripe black and blue fruits, licorice joined by a spicy quality that carries onto the palate. Sweet boysenberry and cherry flavors, with a suggestion of mocha. Very nicely concentrated, but lively thanks to a cutting, smoky mineral componenton the back end. Supple tannins build on the finish, with sexy oak spice and floral pastille notes.
