Chateau Des Landes Description
Chateau des Landes, in Lussac St.-Emilion, is one of three properties owned by Nicolas Lassange and his wife Sabrina, the other two being Chateau des Arnauds (the original estate, also in Lussac St.-Emilion) and Chateau Maltus, a recent acquisition in Lalande de Pomerol. The project was begun by Nicolas’ grandfather, Paul Lassange, who started Chateau des Arnauds in 1952 with a mere five acres. Modest additions were made to Chateau des Arnauds over the years, but the majority of the Lassange vineyard properties now is the 70-some acres of des Landes, planted mostly to Merlot. This is a Bordeaux rich in structure and silky tannins, textured and ripe, with aromas and flavors of black plums.
