Château Branon Description
An unknown gem in the Graves region, Château Branon—formerly Branon de Licterie or Branon-Licterie—was first mentioned in the 18th century in the notarial documents of the Licterie family. By the 19th century, it had gained recognition as a property with prosperous lands and wines of international trade, commanding prices comparable to the Fourth Growths of Médoc. Authentically located in the heart of Léognan, the vineyard sits on a slightly elevated south/southeast slope between the Château Haut-Bailly and Château Malartic-Lagravière. A privileged location featuring a diversity and richness of millennial soils, enriched by the ancient courses of the Garonne River originating from the Pyrenees. Nurtured by this exceptional terroir, tended like a garden, the vineyard produces wines that continuously tell the story of their land. Accurate and expressive, always true to the biological and biodynamic approach that ensures the utmost respect, they are the living narrative of time and space.
