In honor of Masataka Taketsuru founder of the brand, Nikka Whisky created Taketsuru Pure Malt vatting the best single malts coming from its two distilleries Yoichi and Miyagikyo. The rich, round texture and the delicate aromas of candies are obtained by using in the composition of Taketsuru 17 year old a greater proportion of single malts matured in sherry casks.
Whisky with a surprising complexity, it will satisfy amateurs with its authenticity but also novices looking for quality Japanese whisky.
- Nose: Fresh and fruity with fruit salad, berries, sultanas and some other dried fruit, vanilla, fragrant wood and honey.
- Palate: Spicy and rounded with vanilla, blood orange and a little chocolate.
- Finish: Medium-length, slightly bittersweet, oak, fruit and cocoa.
