Mars Shinshu Distillery Description
With every passing year comes a new release from Mars Hombo’s flagship distillery in Nagano, Komagatake. Formerly known as Mars Shinshu, this distillery currently holds the title of “Japan’s Highest Whisky Distillery” and is iconic for its clean and delicate style of malt whisky. The Komagatake 2023 emphasizes the fruit forward aromas of banana, apricot, and dried plum which turns to the deeper, rich flavors on the palate. Hazelnut, maple candy, black tea, and oxidative sherry sweetness all make an appearance in this stellar new edition of Komagatake’s ever evolving malt whisky.
