Auchentoshan Description
Since the millennium, we have placed small batches of our unique triple distilled spirit in virgin North American oak. As the name suggests, ours is the first spirit to be matured in this wood; the charred surfaces are untouched by bourbon or sherry.
Intuition suggested we could challenge a long-held belief: Scotch Whisky must be matured in ex-bourbon or sherry casks. Just one taste confirmed we were right.
Time and patience create a deep orange colour along with spiced apple and candied notes - revealing layer upon layer of complexity.
- To the eye: Deep sienna orange.
- To the nose: Cinnamon and nutmeg, toasted vanilla and candied orange.
- To the tongue: Spiced apple, smooth chocolate caramel, maple candy and a velvety mouthfeel.
- To the end: Warm with spiced orange and brown sugar.
