Akkeshi Distillery Description
Akkeshi’s 24 Sekki series seeks to evoke the micro seasons of the Japanese solar year, expressing seasonal nuance in liquid form. Shosetsu encompasses November 22–December 6, when the sun and trees subdue their brilliance, contract, and prepare for the cold of winter. Akkeshi’s Shosetsu – The Greeting of Snow is a malt & grain whisky that explores this quivering, hushed time with sharp citrus tempered by comforting baking spice and smoke.

- Distilled from Akkeshi single malt and sourced grain whiskies; some barley is lightly peated (PPM non-disclosed)
- A primary component of whisky matured in Hokkaido mizunara casks is blended with whisky matured in a variety of casks including ex-bourbon, sherry, and red wine

- A citrus-forward nose of candied lemons, pickled ume, and sweet grains leads to a palate of orange peel and smoky cedar with a complex finish highlighting bitter lemon peel and vanilla cream
